Step 4 - Creating Free Text Polls

At this point, you should have an account on polleverywhere.com. If you are comfortable exploring on your own, go ahead and try to make a simple free text poll. You should have a cell phone with texting capability handy so that you can test your new poll.

The list of steps from the video demonstration are shown below:

1. Go to polleverywhere.com. You may click on the words polleverywhere.com if necessary.
2. Click on the Login words in the top right corner.
3. Enter your email or username and your password.
4. You should be directed to the screen where you create polls. If you are not, click on Polls in the top left corner.
5. Click on Create New Poll in the upper left portion, just below the upper left corner.
6. Click on Free Text Poll which is the poll in the middle.
7. Click in the white box underneath the word Question and type an open-ended question.
8. In the upper right corner, make sure the box As Much As They Like is clicked. This will allow multiple responses from the same person. You may play with other options in the upper right as you see fit.
9. Click on the green box that says Save New Poll.
10. You should go directly to your poll. If not, click on your poll in the list of your polls.
11. If it hasn't already, click on Start Poll in the upper right corner.
12. The number in the upper right is the recipient of the text. You should text the number on the left and your answer as the content of the text.
13. Congratulations! You have created a free text poll. Try sending multiple messages to make sure it works.
